Update from Greece

We should never forget that parliamentary democracy is a deeply undemocratic institution. This was already noted as far back as the 1700s, if we recall Rousseau's comments on the Brittish. To quote Rudolf Rocker "Within the Socialist movement ifself the Anarchist represents the viewpoint that the war against capitalism must be at the same time a war against all institutions of political power, for in history economic exploitation has always gone hand in hand with political and social oppression". We may add that just as the commodity represents the alienated and reified result of exploited labor, one that has turned around and consumes its producer, parliamentary democracy reflects the parallel/correlate reification of political power as the political exploitation of the vast majority.
